Gordoniade: 8 performed by the Wild Octet

First, on four evenings and one night, the audience is invited to experience Gordoniad. Performance of the cycle of compositions by the Michael Gordon for equal instruments in the landscape created by the artist Andras Egliš in Hanzas Perons. In other words, on four evenings – August 3, 4, 7 and 8, the following concerts will be performed:

  • a piece for four electric guitars ‘ Amplified ‘, which will be performed by Rihards Goba (August 3 at 21.00);
  • a piece for six percussion instruments or simantras ‘ Timber ‘ in the performance of the “Wood Sextet” conducted by Guntars Freiberg (August 4 at 9:00 p.m.);
  • piece for seven bassoons ‘ Rushes ‘ in the reading of the “Niedru septet” led by Raimonds Gulbja (August 7 at 20.00);
  • a piece for eight cellos ‘ 8 ‘ in the interpretation of the “Wild Octet” conducted by the musician Diana Ozoliņa (August 8 at 8 p.m.).

The end of Gordoniades for those who crave a different and unprecedented experience will be a night concert on August 9, when a limited number of the audience is invited to spend the night in Peron. Come with the sunset, taking with you sleeping bags and other accessories intended for spending the night in nature at your discretion, and during the night experience the consecutive performance of all four pieces performed by the mentioned musicians and collectives. As the sun rises and the last beats of the work ‘ Timber ‘ sound, travelers will wake up from a real or waking dream.
